Rudy’s Ride


Saturday, May 12th: Rides begins at 8:00 a.m. We will meet at Rudy’s parking lot on hwy. 151 and Westover Hills blvd.  This scenic and somewhat hilly 20 mile ride is a good way to get a good workout in a short period of time..   The ride takes us around the Sea World area to Talley Road and Wiseman Blvd.  For Information contact Heidi Lynn at 842-2383 (cell)  (, SA 78251)

Lone Oak Ride


Sunday, June 3rd: Ride starts at 8:00 a.m.  This is a 27 mile and slightly hilly but very scenic ride on the east side of San Antonio.  Meet at the Lonesome Oak Café (closed except for the parking lot).  Directions: Take Hwy. 87 East towards Loop 1604.  Turn left at the stoplight by the service station and go one block to the service road.  Turn left on the service road to Lonesome Oak café, on the right.  For more information, contact ride leaders Randy Frazier at (210) 237-8740 and Diana Valdez at (210) 535-3373.

Adopt A Highway: Community Service Day


Saturday, June 23rd: Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the entrance to Government Canyon State Natural Area on Galm Road.  Bring your family and friends for our litter pickup along two miles of Galm Road.  Remember to wear long pants, sturdy shoes and your yellow volunteer HCBTC T-shirt.  If you don’t have one, show up anyway & we’ll get one for you. Bring gloves, sun block & insect repellent. Safety vest’s, trash bags, coffee, water & a light refreshment will be provided to you  Our club decided several years ago that we would give back to the community by beautifying this popular route for cyclists and we are counting on your support.  NO RSVP required, just show up and join the fun.  For information contact Heidi Lynn at 210-842-2383.

Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park (Fredericksburg) Ride


Sunday, May 6th: Ride starts at 9:00. Hill country friends have mapped out different routes that may be used for the Annual Fredericksburg Fall Foliage Frolic –

Rebecca’s Mirror Ride


Saturday, May 5th: Ride starts at 7:30 am: This is a 55 mile ride. Meet at Bullis County Park on the east side of Blanco Road approximately 8 miles north of 1604. Turn right onto Old Blanco Road for the entrance to the park. This is a beautiful somewhat hilly ride to Kendelia via Edge Falls Road and returning via Spring Branch Road. Pace will be 10-14 mph depending on what part of the loop we are on. Ride leader will pause at turns and wait to make sure nobody gets lost. Urban Breakfast Ride

Sunday April 29th: Wheels Down Exactly at 8AM (no exceptions). This is a 24-mile stay together ride with the Wheelmen through Brackenridge Park, Olmos Park, downtown, Mission Reach, and other neighborhoods with a stop for breakfast (usually on St Mary’s) near the end of the ride. Meet in the parking lot under Hwy 281 at the corner of Pearl Pkwy and Ave. B (by the Pearl Brewery Complex). 2012/04/06 Fort Worth Easter Ride

Fort Worth Bicycling Association Presents
The 2012 Easter Hill Country Tour

The Fort Worth Bicycle Association is hosting three days of fully-supported riding over the 2012 Easter weekend, April 6,7 and 8 in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country for only $45. The Bluebonnets and the vistas are unrivaled anywhere in Texas.
 
We would love to have you and your club members/riding friends join us for this event. Please share this note or use your newsletter/website to help us promote what should be a great event. Brochures and posters are fortcoming. Registration is now available at www.ehct.com  

All rides will start and finish in Kerrville with each day offering multiple options at distances ranging from about 20 to 100 miles. All rides are fully-supported with rest stops at strategic intervals along the routes supplemented by roving SAG vehicles.

Sammy’s 471 Ride from Castroville

Saturday, April 21st: Ride starts at 9:00 a.m. from the Park and Ride lot across from Sammy’s Restaurant in Castroville.  This is a mostly flat 33 mile ride to the Exxon station on FM 471 (Culebra) and back to Castroville, where we will have lunch at Sammy’s restaurant.  This is a nice ride for beginners, with safe wide bike lanes for most of the ride.  Stops will be at Rio Medina (a good place to turn around for those who want a shorter 12 mile ride) and the Exxon station.  The Park and Ride is located at the intersection of Hwy 90 and FM 471 (Culebra Road).  For more information, contact ride leader Christine Jacques at (210) 244-3553 or email her at jacquesinvestment@gmail.com.

Hardberger Park (West) Ride

Sunday, April 15th: Meet at 9:00 a.m. in the parking lot just inside the park  (8400 NW Military) for a 20+ mile ride through quiet residential areas to Eisenhower Park with return to Hardberger Park.  This is an out-back ride on streets with little traffic.  A very good ride for beginners.  For more information, contact ride leader Jon Brett at (484) 258-4480 (cell) or (210) 524-9323 (home).
